Personas

Personas are persistent player profiles that you create once and reuse across games. They save time, add personality, and track statistics.

Creating a Persona

1. Open the Persona Library from the game list menu
2. Tap + to create a new persona
3. Enter a name (up to 50 characters)
4. Pick an emoji avatar — any single emoji
5. Choose a color from 9 presets

Available Colors

Nine preset colors to choose from:

Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Purple, Pink, Teal

Colors appear as badges and highlights throughout the app, making it easy to identify each player at a glance.

Game Statistics

Each persona tracks:

• Games played — Total number of games the persona has participated in
• Wins — Number of games won

Statistics are calculated automatically across all games that use the persona.

Using Personas in Games

When creating a game, tap the persona picker to add saved personas as players:

• Personas bring their name, emoji, and color into the game
• Much faster than typing names manually
• Perfect for regular gaming groups

iCloud Sync

Personas sync across all your devices via iCloud automatically:

• Create a persona on your iPhone, use it on your iPad
• Game statistics aggregate across devices
• Deduplication handles sync conflicts

Deduplication

If the same persona is created on multiple devices before syncing, the app automatically merges duplicates:

• Matching is case-insensitive (e.g., “Alice” and “alice” are treated as the same persona)
• The most customized version (with avatar, color, etc.) is kept
• All game references are updated to point to the merged persona

Tips

• Create personas for everyone in your regular gaming group — it makes game setup much faster
• Use distinctive emoji avatars so you can identify players at a glance on the AirPlay display
• Organize personas into groups for quick bulk selection

FAQ

Do personas sync across devices?

Yes. Personas sync automatically via iCloud. If you see temporary duplicates after setting up a new device, the app will merge them automatically.

Can I delete a persona that’s been used in games?

Yes. Deleting a persona doesn’t affect past games — the player names and scores in those games are preserved. The persona is simply removed from the library.

Can two personas have the same name?

The app uses case-insensitive deduplication, so “Alice” and “alice” are treated as the same persona and will be merged. However, “Alice” and “Alice S.” are considered different personas.
