Categories let you track scores across multiple dimensions within a single game — perfect for trivia, decathlons, or any game where points come from different areas.

  1. When creating a game, add categories (e.g., “Science”, “History”, “Sports”)
  2. Optionally assign an emoji to each category for visual identification
  3. During gameplay, score each player per category
  4. The total score is the sum across all categories

Save sets of categories as templates for reuse:

  1. Create a category template with your category names and emojis
  2. When creating a new game, apply the template to instantly add all categories
  3. Templates can be managed in the category template library

This is great for recurring games — set up your trivia categories once and reuse them every week.

Categories are set when creating a game. To add new categories, start a new game with the updated category list.

The total score displayed for each player is the sum of their scores across all categories. Rankings are based on this total (adjusted for the scoring mode).

Can different categories have different point scales?

Section titled “Can different categories have different point scales?”

All categories use the same scoring system. If you need different scales, you can account for this in the point values you enter.
